The IT Crowd is one of the funniest British sitcom especially if you are in the IT field. Here is a clip of what usually happens in the IT department. My favorite part is the last 20 seconds of the clip.
Roy: Oh God, it’s about time you got back. It’s been all go.
Moss: You had a job?
Roy: Girl of fifth.
Moss: Did you and her hit it off?
Roy: Define “hit it off”.
Moss: Did she continue talking to you once you fixed her computer?

Too often, I used to get the neat freak geek speak guys, even in person on campus. So now I rely on computer savvy friends. This results in chats that start off in gibberish and then come down to my level. One memorable one involved the following exchange “What browser are you using?” “Uh, what’s a browser?” 😀
Fortunately my computer savvy friends have infinite patience, excellent translation (computer speak to real languages) skills, and a sense of humour! They also seem to do well on the romance front.

That was funny. And the translation thing is very true. Sometimes while speaking with a friend on the phone trying to give him instructions on how to fix his computer, after I am done he would say can you translate that 🙂
Unfortunately, Hollywood ruined our charm reputation they never presented us (IT guys) as tall, dark handsome men. You don’t see George Clooney in his Mom’s basement hacking FBI computers. So, if your computer savvy friends are doing well with the romance thing then they are very lucky 🙂

كانت اكبر مصيبه بس ارد على تلفون من المحافظات عندهم عطل و طبعا فورا بقررو ان البرنامج خربان
و ببدا اكرّ بالاخطاء الشائعه
في مجموعة زرار على الجنب كلهم ارقام…اكبسي على اول واحد من جهة اليسار في ضو لازم يضوي
او
لازم تغيري اللغه للانجليزي و ساعتين لاشرحلها كيف
ويا ويلي اذا الاخت متفننه وفاصلة الشبكه 😦
في جنب الساعه تحت شكل جهازين كمبيوتر…كيف شكلهم بضوو و بطفو ويلا عليهم X
بصير بدي ابكي رسمي….بعد نص ساعه و صوتي بروح و انا بشرح بتطلع الاخت مش قاعده بتجرب على جهازها اللي فيه المشكله لأ الاخت بتشتغل عالجهاز اللي جنب التلفون
